This is a remote position.

Virtual Rockstar is hiring a full-time Medical Biller on behalf of our client, a growing mobile therapy practice serving patients throughout Illinois. This role is focused exclusively on full-cycle medical billing and revenue cycle support, ensuring claims are submitted accurately, payments are posted correctly, and denials are followed through to resolution.

This is a dedicated, long-term role supporting a team of mobile therapists. The Medical Biller will work closely with the Office Manager and internal team and will be fully trained on the practice's workflows and systems.

As a growing practice, they are looking for a billing professional who can confidently manage the billing cycle and help strengthen cash flow and operational consistency.

Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Medical Billing 
  • Submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Review claims prior to submission to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

  • Post ERAs/EOBs and patient payments correctly to patient accounts.

  • Reconcile payments and identify discrepancies or underpayments.

  • Maintain clean, accurate billing records.

Denials Management & Follow-Up
  • Review and follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims.

  • Research denial reasons and take corrective action, including claim corrections and resubmissions.

  • Track claim status and ensure timely follow-up with insurance carriers.

  • Escalate unresolved or complex billing issues appropriately.

Authorizations & Billing Support
  • Obtain missing prior authorizations as needed to support claim resolution.

  • Track authorization requirements related to billing issues.

  • Coordinate with internal staff when documentation or clarification is needed to support claims.

Billing Communication & Reporting
  • Communicate with insurance payers regarding claim status, payment issues, and denials.

  • Support internal communication with the office manager regarding billing progress and outstanding issues.

  • Maintain organized billing logs and provide basic reporting as requested.

Tools & Systems
  • Sky Billing (billing platform)

  • Bitrix24 (internal communication)

  • Google Workspace

(Experience with these tools is preferred; strong billing experience with the ability to learn systems quickly is required.)

Requirements
  • Proven experience managing the full medical billing cycle (claims submission through payment and follow-up).

  • Experience with ERA/EOB posting, patient payment posting, and denials management.

  • Familiarity with obtaining and correcting missing prior authorizations.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in billing documentation.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.

  • Clear, professional communication skills.

  • Experience in therapy-based practices (PT/OT/SLP) strongly preferred.

  • Comfortable working full-time during CST-aligned hours.
