The Engineering Development Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and create growth plans for team members.

  • Project Delivery

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.

  • Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Technical Oversight

  • Provide guidance on architecture, design, and implementation of solutions.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

  • AI Development

  • Drive initiatives in Prompt Engineering and LLM-based solutions.

  • Integrate AI tools into development workflows to improve efficiency and product capabilities.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to optimize prompts and fine-tune models for business applications.

  • Process Improvement

  • Implement and refine development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).

  • Drive automation, code quality, and testing best practices.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Management, QA, and Operations to align engineering efforts with business goals.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to leadership.

  • Resource & Budget Management

  • Forecast resource needs and manage allocation effectively.

  • Contribute to budgeting and cost optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

  • Proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams and delivering complex projects.

  • 10+ years in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Skills:

  • Strong technical background in Java, Python, and/or other high-level programming languages.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and frameworks, including:

  • Prompt Engineering for LLMs (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude).

  • Model fine-tuning and deployment.
  • AI integration into enterprise applications.
  • Prompt management tools (Langfuse)
  • Knowledge of graph databases, vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern development tools.
