The IT Security Associate is responsible for safeguarding the casino hotel's digital assets, computer systems, and networks from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and potential data breaches. This role involves proactive monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and implementation of security measures in compliance with industry regulations. The IT Security Associate also plays a crucial role in incident response, staff awareness training, and coordination with other teams to ensure the security and integrity of all IT systems supporting gaming and hospitality operations.

Core Responsibilities

1. Vulnerability Assessment and Mitigation

  • Identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities in IT systems, applications, and networks.
  • Implement security solutions and recommend best practices to reduce risk exposure.

2. Monitoring and Incident Response

  • Continuously monitor network traffic and system activity for suspicious behavior.
  • Investigate and respond promptly to security breaches, malware infections, or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.

3. Security Awareness Training

  • Conduct awareness sessions for employees on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Educate staff on handling phishing attempts, password management, and safe use of company devices.

4. Security System Management

  • Administer and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus solutions, and SIEM platforms.
  • Perform updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain security defenses.

5. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence

  • Ensure compliance with relevant gaming industry IT security standards, government regulations, and data privacy requirements.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and evidence of security measures.

Specific Tasks
  • Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and penetration tests.
  • Review and analyze security logs, alerts, and reports.
  • Document and report security incidents, investigations, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams, Operations, and external agencies (e.g., law enforcement, regulators) for security-related matters.
  • Maintain and update IT security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, attack vectors, and cybersecurity technologies.

Key Skills & Competencies
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and SIEM tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate complex issues and develop effective security solutions.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in monitoring, analyzing, and documenting security events.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly respond to evolving threats and apply updated security measures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge of local regulations on data protection, gaming compliance, and cybersecurity is an asset.
