Job Title: Client Service Manager (Senior CPA)
Location: Remote
Work Setup: Full-time | Long-term
About the Role
We are hiring a Client Service Manager to oversee client accounting delivery, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, and support ongoing operational and strategic financial objectives. This role provides leadership to accounting staff, communicates directly with clients, and takes full ownership of client deliverables, reporting, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Client Communication & Relationship Management
- Maintain daily communication with assigned clients and respond to questions and requests.
- Ensure clients provide required documents and accounting data per established procedures.
- Deliver weekly and monthly client financial updates on time and at expected quality levels.
- Maintain professional, solution-focused communication internally and externally.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare complete period-end financial statements including:
Balance Sheet
- Income Statement
- Statement of Cashflows
- Record journal entries to accurately reflect assets, liabilities, capital accounts, and operating activity.
- Prepare account reconciliations and review general ledger activity to resolve discrepancies.
- Provide written financial analysis summarizing key trends, variances, and operational outcomes.
- Produce ad-hoc reports as needed based on client requests.
Team Leadership & Workload Management
- Coordinate the work of accounting staff assigned to your clients.
- Provide clear instructions, expectations, and performance follow-through to support development.
- Delegate lower-level tasks effectively to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Manage both personal workload and staff workload to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Communicate progress, risks, and priorities to leadership as needed.
Compliance & Best Practices
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Support and recommend improvements to accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
- Research and interpret accounting policies to resolve process questions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- CPA required
- Experience managing all aspects of the accounting process
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with general ledger systems (QuickBooks experience is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, deadline-driven, and proactive
- Professional, positive, and client-service focused
- Strong phone and email communication skills for high-volume interactions
