The responsibilities associated with this position include:

  • Project Leadership & Management:
    Lead the planning, monitoring, and execution of
    multiple transmission line projects
    , ensuring compliance with engineering design standards, NGCP standards, and safety codes.
  • Grid Interconnection & Studies:
    Lead, organize, and analyze
    transmission line and grid interconnection studies
    (e.g., System Impact Study, Facilities Study), assess interconnection impacts, and validate protocols for connecting to the national grid.
  • The role involves significant technical analysis of existing power systems and identifying the most economical and feasible transmission line alignment.
  • Coordination & Negotiation:
    Serve as the main technical point of contact, leading
    internal and external coordination
    efforts. This includes negotiating with
    NGCP
    (National Grid Corporation of the Philippines) to secure necessary studies and a
    Connection Agreement
    .
  • Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
    Ensure strict
    compliance
    with all technical, regulatory, and legal requirements (including Right-of-Way, land acquisition, and environmental impacts). The role also involves preparing
    thorough and accurate technical reports, documentation, calculations, and drawings
    .
  • Risk & Issue Resolution:
    Provide
    technical leadership
    in identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues and conflicts related to transmission line structures, including legal, regulatory, and cost implications.

Requirements


Skills:

  • Technical & Regulatory:
    Expert knowledge of
    NGCP Standards
    , the
    Philippine Grid Code (PGC)
    , transmission regulations, cost estimating, and technical writing.
  • Leadership & Management:
    Strong skills in
    Technical Management, Site Management, Leadership
    , planning, problem-solving, and managing within a
    matrix organization
    .
  • Interpersonal & Communication:
    Proficiency in
    Stakeholder Engagement, Negotiation, Networking
    , and strong verbal/written/virtual communication.
  • Work Ethic:
    Analytical, detail-oriented, results-driven, and adept at multitasking


Experience:

  • At least 5 years
    relevant experience in the
    power industry
    , with focus on transmission line and grid interconnection
  • Design and construction of high voltage transmission line and power substation projects
  • NGCP standards
    and the Philippine Grid Code (PGC), Previous employment with NGCP (preferred)
  • Management of contractors and preparation of technical report
  • In-depth knowledge of transmission and grid interconnection regulations, policies and procedures
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies, government and public sector, LGUs, indigenous peoples, local communities and senior decision makers/ shareholders of the company


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)
  • Master's degree in Power Systems (preferred)
