Job Title:
Network Operations Engineer – LAN/WAN

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Network Operations Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will design, maintain, and optimize our network to ensure it's fast, secure, and always available. Your work will help the business scale and run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and set up networks that handle heavy traffic and complex connectivity needs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network issues using tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nagios.
  • Implement and enforce network security policies to meet industry standards.
  • Lead response efforts during network outages and work with other teams to fix problems quickly.
  • Keep records of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Mentor junior network engineers and share knowledge within the team.
  • Keep up with new technologies and trends to improve the network.

Requirements:

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years in network engineering or operations, with experience in enterprise networks.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching (VLANs, STP), and MPLS.
  • Experience with network security (firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection).
  • Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible).
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex network issues.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Certifications like CCNP or CCDP.
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure Networking).
  • Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN).

Technical Skills:

  • LAN/WAN network design and implementation.
  • Network monitoring and management (SNMP, NetFlow).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Arista network hardware.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and proactive approach.
  • Clear communicator, able to explain technical issues to non-technical teams.
  • Team player who works well in fast-paced environments.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities.
