SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to support a customer engagement focused on migrating workloads from VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V. This role will play a key part in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues encountered during the migration process, working closely with customer technical teams and internal resources. The ideal candidate brings strong virtualization expertise along with broad datacenter, networking, and storage knowledge to diagnose issues that span multiple infrastructure layers.

This is a customer-facing role requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic MSP delivery environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide senior-level engineering support for VMware-to-Hyper-V migration projects

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to:

  • Microsoft Hyper-V

  • Host and guest OS configurations
  • Networking, storage, and datacenter integrations
  • Collaborate with customer technical teams and MSP delivery resources to identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Support migration planning, execution, validation, and post-migration stabilization
  • Document findings, resolutions, and best practices throughout the engagement
  • Escalate and manage technical risks or blockers as needed
  • Deliver technical guidance and recommendations aligned with customer infrastructure and business requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Senior-level experience (5–10 years) in infrastructure engineering and virtualization
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V

  • Solid understanding of:

  • Datacenter operations

  • Enterprise networking concepts (VLANs, switching, routing basics)
  • Storage technologies (SAN/NAS concepts, performance considerations)
  • Experience troubleshooting issues across multiple infrastructure layers
  • Familiarity with virtualization migration tools and processes
  • Ability to work in complex, multi-vendor environment
  • Proven ability to work directly with customers and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to high-quality service delivery

  • Nice to have

  • Prior VMware administration experience

  • Experience supporting large-scale or multi-site migration projects
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
  • Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
