Overview

The Production Administration Junior Engineer supports the efficient operation of the metal fabrication shop by coordinating production processes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring smooth communication between departments. This role is critical in ensuring that deadlines are met, quality standards are upheld, and resources are optimally utilized.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production Planning and Coordination

  2. Assist in developing and updating production schedules based on project requirements.

  3. Coordinate with production teams to ensure resources (materials, manpower, tools) are available for operations.

  4. Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.

  5. Documentation and Reporting

  6. Maintain and organize production records, work orders, and job sheets.

  7. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production performance reports.

  8. Ensure compliance with documentation requirements, including ISO or other quality standards.

  9. Process Improvement

  10. Assist in analyzing workflow and identifying areas for efficiency improvements.

  11. Suggest enhancements to production processes and work methods.

  12. Participate in lean manufacturing or 5S initiatives to optimize shop floor performance.

  13. Communication and Coordination

  14. Serve as a liaison between the production team, design department, and management.

  15. Communicate project updates, delays, or issues to relevant stakeholders.

  16. Respond promptly to inquiries from team members and external stakeholders.

  17. Quality Control and Compliance

  18. Support quality assurance processes by ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.

  19. Assist in conducting inspections of materials, equipment, and finished products.

  20. Address and resolve minor quality issues with appropriate escalation when necessary.

  21. Inventory and Resource Management

  22. Track and manage inventory levels of raw materials and consumables.

  23. Coordinate with procurement to replenish stock as needed.
  24. Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 0-2 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or engineering.
  • Exposure to metal fabrication or similar industries is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems.
  • Basic understanding
