The Underwriting Associate for Motor provides support to the Motor Underwriting Supervisor in the evaluation and assessment of motor insurance risks. The role involves reviewing the acceptability of renewal business and assisting in the development of underwriting terms that are both competitive and profitable, in accordance with company guidelines.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares quotations on accounts that are considered desirable and acceptable based on the existing guidelines of the company in motor underwriting.
  • Conducts risk inspection for evaluation and loss control purposes.
  • Reviews, motor policies, endorsements and other related documents and makes proper recommendation to immediate superior.
  • Assists immediate superior in the review of monthly expiry list of motor line accounts.
  • Provides assistance to the Motor Underwriting Supervisor in preparing and analyzing profitability portfolio of accounts.
  • Prepare facultative placements when necessary.
  • Proposes, negotiates with the Marketing Team, Intermediary or client on conditions and terms of cover under which an account can be accepted.
  • Signs policies, endorsements and other related documents within the authority accorded to him by his immediate superior.
  • Consistently adhere to the Company Procedures and Code of Discipline at all times.
  • Perform other functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of any 4-year course
  • With at least 1 year of experience in Policy Issuance
  • Has an analytical ability and proficient in Microsoft functions
  • With good moral character or high level of integrity
