Job OverviewWe are looking for a multi-skilled Project Engineer with strong experience in Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Mining and Oil & Gas projects, with a keen eye for detail, strong commercial awareness, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

As a Project Engineer supporting our Australian client, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering support across large-scale fabrication and construction projects. This role requires a technically strong professional who can interpret construction drawings, manage work packs, liaise with client representatives, and drive project compliance and reporting. You will play a vital role in ensuring the successful execution of project scopes, managing technical queries, preparing cost estimates for design changes, and supporting the commercial team in achieving contract compliance.

Your expertise will contribute to maintaining project schedules, producing accurate documentation, and upholding quality standards across all stages of project delivery. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to work within a collaborative and dynamic environment, contributing to major infrastructure across the Civil, Mining, and Oil & Gas sectors. Key Responsibilities:Review reinforcement schedules against IFC drawings and identify discrepancies.

Prepare and submit fabrication work packs into a client database/system. Manage and resolve technical queries (TQs) with client representatives. Arrange method statements and produce as-built drawings.

Compile and present weekly progress reports and updates to project schedules. Identify and manage design changes and assist the commercial team with head contract compliance. Prepare cost estimates for changes and comparisons between contract and as-built structures.

Ensure the delivery of high-quality documentation, reporting, and technical outputs. Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar engineering role, ideally within the fabrication environment.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in:Workpack preparation

Material Take-Offs (MTO)Estimating and costing

Weld mapping and documentation

Progress tracking and reporting

Head contract compliance and commercial claims

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, SAP, Navisworks, FoxIt and other MS applications. Highly organized with excellent written and verbal English communication skills. A proactive, client-focused approach with a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes.Demonstrated experience working within the Civil, Mining, and Oil & Gas industries.
