
Portfolio Business Transformation and Strategic Projects Head

Job PurposeThe primary purpose of a Portfolio Management Business Transformation and Strategy Director is to lead an organization's efforts to transform its business processes and operations to achieve business financial goals and customer experience goals. To optimize revenue generation (RYP), ensure policy longevity, and drive strategic growth for Life and General Insurance categories through a deep understanding of customer motivations, payment methods, and industry trends.
The role involves effectively implementing and project managing the Orphan Management program, overseeing distribution-initiated campaigns for all Retail Distribution Channels related to orphan policies, supporting the reduction of the orphan ratio, and increasing persistency rates within Bancassurance and Agency channels. The Director/Head will collaborate with the Portfolio Management Director and other leaders to identify areas for improvement and develop plans to achieve strategic goals. It includes overseeing strategy implementation, monitoring progress, and ensuring transformational initiatives deliver expected results.
The role aims to develop and implement strategies to improve business performance, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and foster growth. The ultimate goal is to create a more agile, competitive, and innovative organization. - Develop annual strategies aligned with division and overall company goals.
- Implement priority projects within budget, scope, and time.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes to executive team and stakeholders.
- Align portfolio management strategic goals across departments.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors.
- Ensure timely implementation of projects within managed costs.
- Achieve projected benefits from strategic initiatives.
- Follow AXA Gating process (X0 to X4).
- Manage project portfolio dashboard reports and project risks.
- Monitor portfolio spendings to stay within budgets.
- Coordinate with Finance for budget concerns.
- Lead portfolio performance reviews and address challenges proactively.
Overall RYP
- Analyze revenue drivers, collaborate on customer retention, and develop campaigns to promote customer loyalty.
- Conduct detailed analyses and identify opportunities for future revenue yield performance.
- Manage data quality to prevent operational disruptions and support proactive decision-making.13M persistency metric
- Lead a team to ensure smooth onboarding, monitor progress, analyze data, and forecast persistency.
- Generate drivers and forecasts for interventions.
- Create early indicators for proactive management.
- Address data quality issues and promote understanding of trends across groups.
Cross-Sell APE
- Maximize current base through cross-sell and upsell efforts.
- Engage customers throughout their lifecycle with targeted propositions.
- Run cross-sell campaigns (e.g., HPC) and upsell campaigns (e.g., CI Rider).
- Improve data quality and cooperation with channels.
Portfolio performance to achieve KPIs
- Establish, monitor, and review KPIs for transformation success.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement growth, efficiency, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Regularly review performance per business unit.
- Take timely actions to address challenges and ensure strategic goals are met.
Distribution Engagement
- Conduct regular governance with channels, including performance discussions and insights sessions.
- Create communication materials for channels.
- Increase distributor engagement and achieve activity metrics for orphan or transferred policies.
- Manage attrition and other channel priorities.
Portfolio performance to achieve KPIs
- Similar to above, with emphasis on performance monitoring, challenge resolution, and feedback mechanisms.

Derivation of business targets and ambitions. Benefits realization, productivity metrics, renewal premiums, persistency, cross-sell metrics, engagement scores, and budget management. Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
Strong background in life insurance, business transformation, project management, and risk management. Actuarial pricing, product development experience is a plus. Personal Characteristics/BehaviorsOther RequirementsAbility to collaborate across all organizational levels.
Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to interpret numbers and tell stories. Professionalism, detail orientation, and good etiquette.
Knowledge of marketing principles. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. Data analytics, negotiation, analytical, people, risk management, and conflict-resolution skills.
