Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Presales Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Network Infrastructure, Server/Systems Engineering, and IT Solution Design. This hybrid role combines technical presales responsibilities with implementation engineering, supporting the full solution lifecycle - from customer engagement and solution design to deployment and post-implementation support.

The ideal candidate must possess deep technical knowledge across Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, firewalls, servers, virtualization, storage, cloud, and security technologies. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and strong troubleshooting capabilities during implementation.

Primary Responsibilities:

Presales Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to understand business needs, technical requirements, and project scopes.
  • Design end-to-end network, server, security, and cloud solutions aligned with best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver: Technical proposals and solution architecture | Bill of Materials (BOM) and cost estimates | Technical presentations, demos, and POCs.
  • Collaborate with vendors and distributors for solution validation, pricing, and technical alignment.
  • Support the Sales Team in creating competitive and customer focused proposals.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and tender/bid submissions.
  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge in solutions such as Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, HPE, VMware, Microsoft Server/AD, and Cloud Services.

Implementation & Engineering Responsibilities

  • Configure and deploy network devices, including L2/L3 switches, routers, SD-WAN appliances, and firewalls.
  • Implement and manage: VLANs, Trunking, STP | Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP) | IP addressing and subnetting | Firewall rules, ACLs, VPNs, and security policies.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and similar enterprise IT infrastructure systems.
  • Support installation and configuration of: Virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) | Storage/Backup Solutions (e.g., HPE MSA, Dell, Lenovo, H3C, NAS/SAN devices) | Cloud services (Microsoft Azure, O365, AWS).
  • Troubleshoot L1–L3 issues, network outages, misconfigurations, and performance problems.
  • Conduct site surveys, documentation, network diagrams, acceptance testing, and handover.
  • Provide post-implementation support and collaborate with L1/L2 teams for escalation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Technical Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong and practical understanding of: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs | Routing and Switching | Firewalls, VPN, and network security | Windows Server, AD, GPO, enterprise systems | Virtualization & Storage.
  • Hands-on experience with major ICT vendors: Cisco, Juniper, HP Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, VMware, HPE, Lenovo, Dell, Synology, Infortrend, etc.
  • Familiarity with high-availability protocols (HSRP, VRRP) and SD-WAN technologies.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CCNA / CCNP
  • JNCIA / JNCIS
  • CompTIA Network+ / Security+
  • Fortinet NSE certifications
  • VMware VCTA/VCP (advantage)

Professional & Soft Skills

  • Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple projects.
  • Goal-driven with strong initiative and minimal supervision.
  • Experience in B2B IT sales or solution selling is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity at all times.
