Full Stack MERN

We are seeking a Full Stack MERN Developer with a strong backend/data specialization to join our growing health-tech team. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in backend development, data ingestion and transformation, scheduled jobs (cron/ETL), and integration with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and third-party APIs.

This developer will play a critical role in the daily and monthly ingestion, transformation, and synchronization of clinical and billing data across systems. The position involves a high level of autonomy, solution design, system integration, and lifecycle support of back-end infrastructure, with secondary experience in front-end, cloud, and DevOps tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

Backend & Data Integration

• Build and maintain secure, scalable APIs and microservices using + Express.
• Design and manage automated scheduled jobs (daily, weekly, monthly) to pull data from EMRs, external APIs, SFTP, and legacy systems.
• Develop custom ingestion pipelines, transforming raw data into structured MongoDB documents or SQL records.
• Design and implement robust data mapping, validation, and transformation logic to support FHIR-aligned or proprietary schemas.
• Create error handling, logging, alerting, and retries for long-running or high-volume background jobs.

API & System Integration

• Integrate with external REST/SOAP APIs, EMR vendor systems (e.g., Athena, eClinicalWorks, DrChrono), payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), and other healthcare data sources.
• Design secure authentication and authorization layers, including support for OAuth2, API keys, or token-based systems.
• Support FHIR, HL7, EDI (X12 837/835/270/271) standards where applicable.

DevOps & Deployment

• Package backend services using Docker, and deploy/manage on AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.).
• Configure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Schedule and monitor jobs using cron, PM2, or external schedulers (e.g., AWS EventBridge, Step Functions).

Architecture & Project Oversight

• Collaborate with architects to define data models, schema changes, and infrastructure decisions.
• Lead sprint-level execution of backend and integration workstreams.
• Use JIRA and Confluence to manage sprints, document work, and track data flows across services.

Testing, QA, & Support

• Write unit/integration tests for all backend services and ETL jobs.
• Conduct code reviews, regression testing, and production validation of data jobs.
• Provide production support for ingestion failures, schedule drift, or schema mismatch.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of backend or full-stack development using the MERN stack.
• Prior experience with healthcare data systems, EMRs, or HIPAA-compliant applications is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in , , and server-side JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of MongoDB and/or SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and how to write efficient queries.
• Proficiency in API development, integration, and RESTful service design.
• Experience with cron jobs, ETL processes, or custom schedulers.
• Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or X12 is a strong plus.
• Experience with source control using Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
• Comfortable with AWS services, Docker, and CI/CD setup.
• Exposure to and React Native is a plus but not the primary focus.

Preferred Tools & Practices

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development, sprint cycles, and backlog grooming via JIRA.
• Experience using ChatGPT or other AI tools to enhance development productivity.
• Understanding of security best practices, especially in HIPAA-regulated environments.

• Available for onsite Makati day shift (6AM to 3PM)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php40, Php45,000.00 per month
