BRANDED CONTENT WRITER

Job overview:

The branded content writer is responsible for writing a variety of unique materials such

as websites, blogs, social media captions, online articles, video scripts and storyboards,

event copy requirements, and magazine articles for brand partners and clients, as well

as for adobo Magazine. They also assist the business team in the development of

engaging content that can be used in marketing or advertising campaigns.

The branded content writer will be part of the overall editorial team with specific focus on

branded content, with flexibility to handle editorial tasks with the President and the team

for content creation.

The position reports to the Copywriter and Senior Content Editor as well as the Editorial

Director, and works closely with both the business and editorial teams.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Produce branded deliverables for client-paid projects


• Research ideas and facts pertinent to the type of content/topic assigned, and

develop ideas derived from research


• Write fresh content based on research and brainstorming by following

instructions provided for each type of document


• Write content for an array of brand clients and persona, keeping in mind the

general structure and sentiment of the readers


• Develop engaging content for articles, videos, events, and social media

captions to entice and engage audiences


• Develop scripts, program flows, invitations, and decks for client events


• Develop storyboards and scripts for video projects


• Conduct interviews with clients for materials, in-person and online

2. Work closely with the Editorial Director on the deliverables, and for

internal approval and revisions


• Proofread content for errors or additions and ensure that content is written per

instructions; apply comments and edits as instructed by the Editor/Editorial Director until

the material is approved internally and externally


• Ensure that web page content is edited properly to increase on-screen

readability

• Think up titles for each piece of content, keeping appropriateness in check


• Ensure that content contains sufficient keywords for search engine

optimization


• Rewrite, paraphrase or write content from scratch depending on specific

instructions provided in the work order


• Participate in creative strategy and content planning with the branded content

team, the Editorial Director, and the Creative Director


• Ensure and oversee the deployment of branded content deliverables from the

conception up to the execution

3. Work with the business department to ensure client needs are met


• Attend/cover branded events and produce event coverage articles for the

client; conduct on-ground interviews if necessary/requested by the client for the material


• Attend meetings and pitches with clients along with the business team


• Closely review and collaborate with the business team on the Job Order form

for clarity on projects and deadlines, and regularly meet with them for updates on status
