JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Senior Accountant supervises staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and support of budget and forecast activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close for all companies
• Prepare month-end entries and analyze monthly Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet
• Monitor the companies' Chart of Accounts and create adjusting entries necessary to correct erroneous posting of transactions, reconcile entries, write-off accounts as approved by management, or in any other case necessary to reflect correct balances
• Journalizing & reconciliations of intercompany funding and transfers.
• Coordinate annual audit of all companies with external auditors
• Respond to inquiries from the other firm-wide managers regarding financial results and other financial matters.
• Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations
• Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
• Handle reconciliations for all inter-company transactions related to loans, collections, and payments.
• Attend meetings for reporting and process improvement purposes
• Other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

JOB DIMENSIONS

Technical Competencies:

• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or equivalent
• At least 5 years' experience in the same field or equivalent ( proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations).

Training/ Seminars:

• General Accounting / Accounting seminars including financial management & analysis, etc. (required)

Licensure :

Certified Public Accountant (required)
