  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Mechanical Engineer, preferably within a processing plant, manufacturing, or industrial facility.
  • Experience with mechanical fabrication, mechanical operations and maintenance equipment installation, and project field execution.

  • Prior supervisory or lead experience is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of processing plant equipment and systems (pumps, conveyors, valves, tanks, rotating equipment, piping).

  • Understanding of fabrication methods, welding procedures, and mechanical assembly practices.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and equipment layouts.
  • Familiarity with ASME, API, ISO, and OSHA standards applicable to processing plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee shop and field fabrication of mechanical components, including piping, skids, platforms, guards, vessels, and structural assemblies.
  • Supervise equipment installation such as pumps, motors, conveyors, mixers, screens, mills, compressors, tanks, and process machinery.
  • Verify proper equipment alignment, leveling, anchoring, torqueing, and connection to utilities or process systems.

  • Review fabrication drawings, isometrics, and mechanical layouts for accuracy and feasibility.

  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting processing equipment and systems.

  • Ensure installed systems meet design specifications, process requirements, and mechanical reliability standards.

  • Assist in commissioning and start-up activities, including testing and performance validation.

  • Supervise in-house mechanical teams, welders, millwrights, and contractors.

  • Conduct daily coordination meetings to align work across production, maintenance, and safety teams.

  • Provide coaching and development for junior technicians and engineers.

  • Enforce strict safety procedures within an active processing plant environment (energy isolation, confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout).

  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with OSHA and plant-specific safety policies.

  • Maintain accurate project, safety, and quality documentation.

  • Serve as the main contact for project updates between engineering, operations, and contractors.

  • Prepare project progress reports, schedules, change requests, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and fabrication shops to ensure equipment meets plant specifications.
