We're seeking a Senior Back-End Developer (Python) to design, build, and optimize the robust backend systems and APIs behind our high-performing applications. You'll work with Python, SQL, and AWS to deliver scalable solutions, while also diving into geospatial data and observability tools to push the platform forward.

What are you expected to do?

• Engineer at scale: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems and APIs built for speed and growth.
• Shape access: Build and manage secure, reliable, and efficient public-facing APIs.
• Automate everything: Own CI/CD pipelines that power continuous integration and deployment.
• Stay observant: Implement best-in-class monitoring and observability with tools like Datadog or New Relic.
• Collaborate to innovate: Partner with frontend developers, product teams, and stakeholders to align backend architecture with business goals.
• Go spatial: Harness PostgreSQL and PostGIS for advanced SQL and geospatial data management.
• Go cloud-native: Deploy solutions in AWS using API Gateway, Lambda, and Serverless frameworks.
• Think modular: Support microservices-based architectures and event-driven workflows with webhooks.
• Code with agility: Drive projects forward with agile methodologies and best practices.
• Level up performance: Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance backend reliability at every step.

You'll be a great fit if:

• You have 5+ years of backend development experience, building and scaling public-facing APIs.
• You code in Python like a pro, with solid experience in Flask or FastAPI.
• You are highly skilled in SQL and PostgreSQL, and ideally PostGIS for geospatial data.
• You bring experience with spatial mapping tools (like Mapbox) or GIS concepts.
• You design RESTful APIs that are secure, scalable, and built for performance.
• You thrive in AWS environments (API Gateway, Lambda, Serverless) and know how to ship production-ready systems.
• You understand microservices and event-driven workflows, including webhooks.
• You value observability, with real-world experience using Datadog, New Relic, or similar.
• You champion CI/CD and can build pipelines that keep code moving fast and safe.
• You are agile in mindset and collaboration, driving impact in fast-moving teams.

We will be absolutely thrilled if you also have the following:

• You are familiar with geospatial data formats such as GeoJSON, shapefiles, or KMZ.
• You understand telecom or utility network planning and deployment workflows.
• You have experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular (a plus).
• You are familiar with Figma or other UI/UX prototyping tools.

Please note: This role is remote; however, we require candidates to be based locally in the Philippines. This is to support occasional onsite activities such as team events, client meetings, or equipment handover. Additionally, local residency is necessary for compliance with Philippines labor laws and employment regulations.

• You'll go through 3–4 interviews plus a possible assessment with our client partner. This includes an initial chat, a culture-fit interview, and 1–2 conversations with our awesome client. The whole process usually takes 1–2 weeks, but we'll let you know if things need to move quicker.
