Procurement Engineer

Responsible for the processing of request to purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services under the general supervision of the Procurement Manager. Works includes the preparation of review of specifications, the receipt of bids or quotations, against specifications.

ESSENTAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1. Receives, examines and processes requisitions against the supporting documents/data related to the purchase of materials, supplies and equipment and services.

2. Identifies from the list of accredited vendors source of supply, and places orders with appropriate bidder(s) after careful evaluation of cost.

3. Compares cost and evaluates the quality and sustainability of supplies, materials, equipment or services.

4. Conducts vendor accreditation and recommend non-performing vendors for blacklisting.

5. Interviews and corresponds with vendors; keeps informed of new products and market conditions and trends.

6. Maintains records on purchase price information on both the open market and contract purchases and revises these as conditions changes; obtains quotations on open market purchases.

7. Analyzes purchasing trends and determine if a contract or order would benefit the Company.

8. Conducts Bid tab to compare proposals received from suppliers.

9. Arranges bulk call-off type Orders/ Blanket PO with Vendors wherever and whenever appropriate.

10. Evaluates requisition compliance against budget. Secure approvals for items beyond the budget.

11. Complies with the established system of the Company.

12. Coordinates with vendors relative to shop/plant visit and inspections (if required) and monitors schedules of deliveries of ordered materials.

13. Perform tasks assigned from time to time by immediate superior.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATION

• Candidate must have at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Civil Engineering or other related courses

EXPERIENCE

• At least two to five years' experience in a Construction Company
• With Customs experience is advantage

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledgeable of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software platforms
