I. REASONS FOR EXISTENCE OF POSITION
To ensure that procedures and service level agreements on ground handling services are effectively implemented in consonance to company standards.
To develop strategies and innovations which would further introduce and boost the company's business.
To maintaining good customer relations and ensure an effective and long-lasting relationships with partners and clients
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports directly to the General Manager, Station Manager, and Assistant General Manager.
Oversees all ramp operations and ensure compliance with company airline safety, security, and operational standards.
Manages day-to-day ramp activities, coordinating with airlines clients and the local community.
Ensures proper functioning and availability of ground support equipment, performing daily visual inspections and troubleshooting.
Leads the implementation and monitoring of the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) for all equipment and vehicles.
Recommends system improvement to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
Supervises and trains staff in operating ground support equipment, as well as mechanics in performing safe and effective repairs.
Ensures all maintenance is done according to manufacturer's manuals, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
Takes immediate action to resolve unsafe conditions and prevent accidents.
Manages and evaluates performance of assigned team members and performs other duties as requested by management.
III. COMPETENCIES
- Able to monitor and assess team performance to ensure adherence to set standards and operational goals.
- Implement work plans and strategies to optimize resources (people, tools, methods) for ramp operations.
- Targets critical areas for innovation and develop solutions to address work issues that span across the ramp operations.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems to overcome obstacles in achieving operational goals.
- Train and develop employees, including mechanics, ensuring proper, safe, and efficient equipment maintenance.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS
With a Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in ground handling operations in a supervisory or managerial position
At least one (1) year experience / knowledge on vehicle repair and preventive maintenance (Mechanical and/or Electrical). Under chassis and Overhauling
Ability to operate manual and automatic vehicle equipment.
Ability to recognize any vehicle problem and ability to apply preventive maintenance.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven track record of delivering both high quality work and establishing and maintaining effective relationships with staff and customers.
Knowledge in Ground Service Equipment (GSE) maintenance is an advantage.
With a valid Professional driver's license.
