Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting Operations
  • Review and validate journal entries, invoices, and transactions before posting into the accounting system.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely processing.
  • Month-End Closing & Reporting
  • Lead and perform month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
  • Prepare complete and accurate Financial Statements (FS).
  • Generate and submit financial and management reports with variance analysis.
  • Tax Compliance
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory obligations.
  • Maintain compliance with income tax laws, VAT, and other local tax requirements.
  • Support in tax audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Support cost control and efficiency initiatives.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
  • Utilize CargoWise for accounting and financial reporting functions.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen accounting processes and controls.
  • Ensure proper documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Team Support & Collaboration
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as necessary.
  • Collaborate with operations and management teams for finance-related support.
  • Provide audit schedules and reports during internal and external audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA (not too strict)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/assistant manager role.
  • Experience in the logistics/freight forwarding industry is required.
  • Proficient in CargoWise and other accounting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
