Island Pacific Global Inc., a subsidiary of Island Pacific Supermarket, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Food Technologist to join our Philhouse (Prepared Food) division. This is an exciting opportunity for a junior professional to work under the guidance of our Head of Food Services and gain hands-on experience in product development, food quality assurance, and process standardization for our supermarket's prepared and cooked food products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and improvement of recipes for the prepared and cooked food section.
  • Conduct product testing, sampling, and basic sensory evaluations to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food preparation, cooking, and packaging.
  • Support the Head of Food Services in monitoring food safety, hygiene, and quality standards in compliance with FDA and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with the procurement and operations teams to ensure proper use of ingredients and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain records of product formulations, ingredient lists, and process notes.
  • Assist in the rollout of new food products and seasonal offerings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in a food production, restaurant, or manufacturing environment (fresh graduates with internship experience are welcome to apply).
  • Basic understanding of food safety practices, HACCP, and GMP.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new processes.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for food development and continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Filipino or Asian cuisine is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of recipe formulation and basic nutritional analysis.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Work Setup

  • Competitive salary: ₱20,000 – ₱25,000/month, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid work setup with onsite work required for testing and kitchen trials.
