Key responsibilities

  • Process payments: Accept and process cash, checks, credit cards, and other payment forms for hospital bills.

Additional duties

  • Prepare promissory notes for patients with unpaid bills.
  • Assist in the preparation of bank deposit slips and ensure deposits are made.
  • Log petty cash issued and process professional fees for doctors.
  • Answer phone calls related to doctor's check inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires at least a Bachelor's degree in any business course.
  • At least one year of experience in cashiering (Hospital Setting) is often preferred.
  • Requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in handling transactions, and good customer service skills.
  • Issue receipts and clearances: Provide official receipts for all payments received and issue discharge clearances for in-patients after payment is settled.
  • Handle financial records: Maintain accurate records of all cash transactions, reconcile cash drawers at the end of a shift, and prepare daily collection summaries.
  • Prepare reports: Compile and submit reports on cash collections, deposits, and other financial activities to the accounting section.
  • Manage cash advances and refunds: Disburse cash advances and petty cash, and process refunds for patients' overpayments or PhilHealth claims.
  • Liaise with other departments: Coordinate with other sections of the business office, such as admitting and accounting, to ensure smooth operations and accurate record-keeping.
  • Assist patients and visitors: Provide courteous assistance, answer inquiries about payments and hospital charges, and resolve any billing-related concerns.
