Job Description:

As a full-time editor, you will be responsible for copyediting/writing biographical content in various formats, including, but not limited to, biographical profiles, press releases, magazine articles, book chapters, and narratives for multiple print publications and online features. You will also be expected to complete data entry tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will have prior editorial experience, demonstrate the ability to read and understand information and present it clearly and concisely without the assistance of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Writing samples must be provided, and the candidate should be prepared to take a proficiency test as part of the screening process.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and copyedit review content for print and online features, keeping in mind the importance of consistency and accuracy per the Marquis in-house style, AP Style, and the style specific to each publication
  • Meet deadlines assigned by editorial managers
  • Report to editorial managers as requested

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in copyediting/copywriting
  • Superior writing skills, and the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Keen eye for detail and command of the English language
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressure
  • Experience with MS Office, especially Word and Excel
  • High-level communication skills; ability to interact productively with team members/managers
  • Working knowledge of AP Style

*This is a full-time, FULLY REMOTE role, and training will be provided. The position includes potential room for growth and the opportunity to work on various editorial projects.
