Team Leader – Graphic Designer

Job Summary:

Graphic Design - Team Leaders lead, inspire, and mentor a talented team of designers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creativity, design excellence, and team management, with the ability to oversee the execution of high-quality design projects from concept to completion. As the Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the studio's creative standards, fostering collaboration, and ensuring timely delivery of outstanding design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Lead, mentor, and guide the graphic design team to foster creativity, professional growth, and team cohesion.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with team members to provide feedback, career development support, and performance evaluations.
  • Encourage collaboration and communication within the team and with other departments (e.g., marketing, production, strategy).
  • Set clear expectations for design quality, deadlines, and workflow.

Creative Direction & Project Oversight:

  • Oversee the design process for various projects, ensuring that creative briefs are fully understood and executed with innovation and quality.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director and other senior leaders to develop and implement design strategies aligned with client goals and brand identity.
  • Maintain and enforce brand consistency across all design materials and projects.
  • Review and approve final designs, ensuring they meet client expectations and project specifications.

Collaboration & Client Interaction:

  • Serve as a key liaison between the design team and clients to ensure design solutions meet business needs and creative standards.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing expert design advice and suggestions.
  • Manage client expectations regarding project timelines, deliverables, and revisions.

Workflow & Project Management:

  • Prioritize and delegate tasks within the team, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of all design projects.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., marketing, content, development) to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring all designs are produced according to established processes and timelines.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Stay updated on design trends, tools, and technology to maintain the team's competitive edge.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, pushing the team to explore new design techniques, styles, and technologies.
  • Continuously evaluate team performance, processes, and output, implementing improvements where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in graphic design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing diverse design work and creative leadership.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.), Sketch, Figma, and other design tools.
  • Exceptional design skills with attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with web design, motion graphics, and video editing.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and practices.
  • Understanding of print production processes and web development basics.
  • Experience in agency or creative studio environments.
