About the Role

Works with business leads to manage client negotiations and contract drafting and advises on commercial matters.

Responsibilities

• Handles labor, civil and criminal litigation which includes preparation of pleadings and personal appearance in court, quasi-judicial agencies and regulatory offices.
• Provides legal opinion/guidance to the organization regarding labor and other legal concerns and liaise with the Human Resources Department on matters concerning the formulation, interpretation and implementation of various policies and the conduct of administrative investigation.
• Renders legal support in connection with claims and actual/potential disputes involving the organization.
• Prepares and reviews vendor-related/commercial contracts and corporate legal documentation, identifies legal risks associated to such contracts or documents and suggests alternatives/solutions.
• Responsible for data privacy concerns including but not limited to the conduct of legal research and formulation of sound opinions, policies, and strategies on data privacy and cybersecurity matters from a national and global perspective.
• Updates the organization regarding revisions and changes on existing laws, rules and regulations and new compliance requirements.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

• Member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines or equivalent and in good standing to practice law in the Philippines
• Minimum three (3) years of labor & litigation experience and corporate-related works from a reputable law firm or company (preferably with BPO experience)
• With relevant working experience in dealing with government agencies such as but not limited to the Department of Labor and Employment, National Privacy Commission, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Board of Investments, local governments
• Knowledge in civil, labor, remedial, and data privacy laws
• Must not have conflict of interest (no moonlighting)
• Able to travel to company's sites nationwide whenever necessary and authorized

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Required Skills

• 4 or more years of legal experience preferably in a corporate environment.
