Job description:

We are seeking a Rebar Detailer with strong skills in detailing and bar scheduling to support our construction projects with high-quality reinforcement detailing that aligns with New Zealand standards and company protocols. This role demands strong attention to detail, excellent planning capabilities, and the ability to coordinate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:Rebar Detailing & Bar Scheduling

  • Review estimation quotes and highlight allowances and tagged items.
  • Understand project scope, quantities, values, and client expectations.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and standard-compliant detailing sheets (as per NZ and company standards).
  • Ensure detailing sheets are completed, reviewed, and issued on schedule.
  • Identify and document any changes between initial estimates and final construction drawings.
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation, reports, and electronic filing systems.
  • Meet weekly detailing output targets (minimum 30–40 tonnes per week).

Planning & Workflow Management

  • Coordinate with production teams to align detailing output with project timelines.
  • Monitor and manage detailing and steel fixing schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate any detailing program changes in a timely manner.

Contract Administration

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and scope.
  • Review and verify contract quantities, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Document and quantify project variations per company policies.

Communication & Coordination

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, site foremen, and steel fixers.
  • Provide timely responses to internal and external queries.
  • Keep a detailed record of all correspondence and communication for future reference.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in rebar detailing software and contract documentation tools.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, contracts, and NZ standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outputs.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and reliability are essential.
