General Job Responsibilities as a Pharmacist:

  • Reviews and prepares prescriptions issued by the Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy, appropriateness of medication, and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
  • Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  • Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals upon releasing.
  • Monitoring and maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations of the hospital.
  • Assist on evaluating department staff performance.
  • Assist in giving examination and evaluation to the on-the-job trainees / Interns
  • Monitor closely the sales and census of the hospital.
  • Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste
  • Acts as officer in charge in cases when the Chief Pharmacist is not present
  • Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory
  • Responsible for updating the prescription book and Senior Citizen logbook.
  • Prepares unit dose dispensing for all patients including cash transactions.
  • Prepare receiving reports of invoices and credit memos of returned medicines and post in the system.
  • Receives and checks the drugs and supplies issued by the stockroom clerk.
  • Follows FIFO policy

Qualifications:

  • A Registered Pharmacist with valid PRC License
  • Possesses good communication skills
  • Displays good coordination and organization skills
  • Possesses analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Able to relate work harmoniously with superiors and co-workers
  • Honest, diligent with an attitude that is consistently good and committed to the department
