Mine Planning Engineer

As a Mine Planning Engineer, It will be your duty to create and manage mine plans that maximize the safe, effective, and ecologically conscious extraction of mineral resources. You will collaborate closely with geology, operations, surveying, and other departments to make sure that long-term planning is in line with corporate goals.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and update short-term, medium-term, and long-term mine plans.
• Design pit shells, phases, and production schedules using mine planning software.
• Conduct pit optimization and scheduling studies.
• Monitor and adjust mine plans in response to changes in operational, geological, or economic conditions.
• Coordinate with geology and surveying teams to ensure the accuracy of resource and reserve models.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and planning documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure mine plans comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical support to operations teams and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings.
• Analyze operational performance data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Experience in either open-pit or underground mining operations.
• Strong skills in Surpac, AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Knowledge of applicable mining regulations and health/safety standards.
