Forest Restoration Supervisor

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Forest Restoration Supervisor will oversee tree planting, reforestation, and ecosystem rehabilitation efforts in Region 12, Philippines, as part of CultureLand's commitment to sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation. This role ensures the effective implementation of restoration activities while working closely with Indigenous communities, local government units, NGOs, and other stakeholders. The supervisor will also be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and maintaining high-quality forest restoration initiatives in alignment with environmental and socio-economic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reforestation and Restoration Implementation

• Lead and manage forest restoration projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to best practices.
• Supervise field activities related to tree planting, assisted natural regeneration (ANR), enrichment planting, and habitat restoration.
• Coordinate logistics for restoration activities, including seedling production, site survey and preparation, and community engagement.
• Work with technical teams to ensure proper species selection and site-specific restoration approaches.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Data Management

• Oversee biomass monitoring, carbon sequestration tracking, and ecosystem health assessments across restoration sites.
• Implement data-driven decision-making processes for effective forest management.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and impact assessments.
• Ensure compliance with environmental standards and reporting requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement and Community Collaboration

• Foster strong partnerships with Indigenous groups, community organizations, and local government units.
• Provide guidance, training, and capacity-building support to community members involved in restoration efforts.
• Strengthen coordination with NGOs, conservation groups, and funding partners to enhance restoration outcomes.
• Promote sustainable land management practices and advocate for forest conservation policies.

Team Development and Capacity Building

• Develop and expand the restoration team, assigning clear roles and responsibilities.
• Train and mentor field staff on restoration techniques, monitoring protocols, and conservation principles.
• Build a skilled team with expertise in GIS mapping, biomass monitoring, and forest ecology.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

• Expand forest restoration projects to cover priority landscapes within Region 12.
• Establish sustainable land-use models that integrate community livelihoods with conservation goals.
• Strengthen monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems for restoration impact assessment.
• Enhance partnerships with government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and conservation organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in reforestation, landscape restoration, or environmental conservation projects.
• Strong knowledge of ecosystem restoration, climate resilience strategies, and sustainable land management.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities and knowledge of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) processes.
• Proficiency in data collection, GIS mapping, and biomass monitoring techniques.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising field teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project implementation.
• Fluency in Visayan and familiarity with the cultural context of Region 12.
• Passion for environmental sustainability and community-driven conservation

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php30, Php40,000.00 per month
