JOB SUMMARY:

The Environmental Sustainability Officer will conduct improvement initiatives to close out gaps identified during the external Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) assurance activity. This will help EDC secure or maintain the ESG assurance certification under applicable ISAE and ISO standards. In addition, the project-based employee will cascade climate-related risks and disclosure standards to enable all EDC groups identify climate-related risks and opportunities.

  • Drafting of Standard Protocols based on the ESG Assurance Audit – draft standards based on the recommendations of the third-party auditor for the ESG Assurance.
  • Assesses the first half environmental sustainability performance for its alignment with applicable ISAE and ISO standards
  • Conducts improvement initiatives to close out the identified gaps in the inventory of the environmental sustainability performance parameters in preparation for the ESG assurance
  • Serves as the project coordinator for the ESG external assurance which will include desktop reviews, interviews and site visits of auditors

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related fields
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting will be considered if job experience is related to Sustainability Accounting/Reporting
  • At least 3 years experience in environmental management such as Pollution Control Officer (PCO) role, environmental consultancy, environmental management audit (ex. ISO audits) and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting.
  • Experience in sustainability reporting using any of these standards is an advantage: IR, IFRS, TCFD, SASB, GRI and CDP.
  • Experiences in
    Greenhouse Gas Accounting and Environmental Management Systems (Ex. ISO Audit)
    are preferred
