We are looking for an outstanding full-stack lead engineer to join our growing team at MotorPlatform. We are located in Sydney, with a hybrid, closely knit development team on-site in Sydney along with a remote team across the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.

This role is a fully remote role.

• Full-Stack Development: Design and implement both front-end and back-end components using React, React-Native, PHP (Laravel & Vapor), Node/Typescript, Postgres.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Contribute to the management and optimisation of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) to ensure robust and scalable application deployment.
• API Design: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code; conduct code reviews to uphold coding standards.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks to enhance application efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Leadership: Lead by example in adopting best practices, ensuring the team's adherence to coding standards and efficient development processes.

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years in full-stack development with a strong focus on PHP (Laravel), , React and React-Native - so strong experience with both a web and mobile stack. We are principally PHP with a little bit of Node so strong experience with PHP/Laravel is a must.
• Database Expertise: Proficiency in Postgres, including schema design, query optimization, and data migration.
• Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda.
• Version Control: Experience with git (github) for source code management.
• Development Practices: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, TDD/BDD and supporting testing frameworks, AI development efficiency related products and services is considered a big plus.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Frameworks: Solid working experience with Laravel; familiarity with frameworks such as Express and testing frameworks such as PHPUnit, Pest, Jest, Mocha etc.
• Front-End Technologies: Proficiency in React and/or React-Native compatible frameworks.
• DevOps: Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive attitude.
