Job Description

The Accounting Cost Controller Supervisor is responsible for overseeing cost accounting operations, monitoring budget adherence, analyzing cost variances, and ensuring accurate financial reporting related to costing. This role also supervises a team to ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily cost accounting and cost control activities
  • Monitor and analyze cost variances and prepare detailed variance reports
  • Ensure accurate recording of inventory, production, and operational costs
  • Develop and implement cost control procedures to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate cost data submission
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and tax regulations
  • Train, guide, and evaluate cost accounting staff

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • CPA license is an advantage but not required
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant work experience in cost accounting or cost control, with supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
  • Knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and budgeting
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
