Job Description – Audiometry Technician

Conducts audiometric tests to evaluate patients' hearing levels and auditory function.
Prepares and calibrates audiometric equipment before use.
Ensures accurate and reliable recording of test results.
Explains procedures clearly to patients to ensure cooperation and understanding.
Assists physicians, audiologists, or occupational health specialists in diagnosing hearing disorders.
Maintains audiometric equipment in good working condition and reports issues promptly.
Observes infection control and safety protocols during testing.
Prepares and organizes patient records and test documentation.
Educates patients on hearing protection and conservation practices.
Supports occupational health programs through hearing screening and monitoring.

Qualifications – Audiometry Technician

Graduate of any allied health-related course (e.g., Nursing Aide, Medical Technology, Health Science).
Completion of a formal audiometry training program or equivalent certification is preferred.
Knowledgeable in the basic anatomy and physiology of the auditory system.
Skilled in the use, calibration, and maintenance of audiometric equipment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in test procedures and documentation.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for guiding patients through assessments.
Ability to work effectively under supervision of physicians or audiologists.
Familiar with occupational health standards and hearing conservation practices.
With prior hospital, clinic, or occupational health experience is an advantage.
Willing to undergo continuing education and training in audiometry and related areas.
