The job responsibilities of a Sr. OP Medical Coder are as follows but not limited to:

  • Reponsible for processing simple to complex cases of the processes handled
  • Must show increasing proficiency in client/ internal customer language, operating procedures and standards
  • Expected to provide guidance and serve as an informal resource to others who have less experience in the assigned business, clinical or technical support processes
  • Providing auditing services to clients
  • Ensures accuracy and quality through monitoring, reviewing, analyzing the work process to deliver a standard result in assigning codes to diagnosis and procedures, using ICD (Internal Classification of Disease), PCS (Procedural Codes) or CPT (Current Procedural Terminology)

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a Bachelor Degree graduate of any Medical Allied Course, preferably local Registered Nurse
  • With active AHIMA and/or AAPC Coding Credential
  • At least 2 years of Outpatient Coding (ED/SDS/OBS)
