JOB SUMMARY: The ESG Associate will support the development and implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies with a focus on Environmental and Social compliances and performance monitoring. This role involves conducting E&S compliance evaluations, analyzing data, and preparing reports to ensure compliance with ESG standards and regulations. The associate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into project planning and execution, driving sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement in technical operations.

FUNCTION AND KEY DUTIES:

  1. Lead in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of community development projects, with a strong focus on social safeguards and inclusive growth such as capacity building, social development initiatives, livelihood trainings, stakeholder management, establish of grievance redress mechanism, etc.

  2. Prepare Project Description, Technical Specifications, Water Resources Reports, Project Components Maps, etc. for NWRB Water Permit Applications, DENR-Environmental Permits (Discharge Permit, Permit to Operate, DENR Hazardous Waste Generator ID), and other environmental-related permits and regulatory compliances such as SMR and CMR submissions.

  3. Support ESG Officer in delivering and monitoring Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports, studies and other related E&S deliverables.

  4. Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, water sampling, and assist in any environmental and social related sampling or field activities.

  5. Gather, analyze, and interpret E&S related data to environmental and social performance.

  6. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to address technical ESG challenges.

QUALIFICATION(S):

  1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree or higher in Environmental & Sanitary Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or other related fields.

  2. Responsible in assisting the ESG Officer in managing E&S tasks and other administrative work, while fostering a collaborative work environment.

  3. Knowledge of Environmental Legislations, Water and Wastewater treatment processes, and other E&S regulatory requirements is a plus.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be proficient in ArcGIS, Environmental Performance Reporting, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies effectively.
  • Willing to be assigned in Makati City.
