I. Job Purpose

The CSA Engineer is responsible for the technical content of calculations, drawings, and other project-related deliverables. The Engineer will be expected to coordinate with the CSA Lead Engineer, Project Management, and other disciplines in order to complete the deliverables within the schedule, budget, and quality expected by Zachry and/or the client.

II. Key Outputs

Calculations and Analysis

  • Uses an overall understanding of structural and civil engineering concepts to come up with technical solutions;
  • Uses company-approved software and hand calculation to solve engineering problems such as designing structures and foundations;
  • Follows Zachry quality procedures, including proper checking, filing, and submission of deliverables;
  • Applies research skills, analytical and creative problem-solving skills, questioning and feedback skills, project and time management skills, and commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards, and initiatives;

Detailed Design Drawings

  • Coordinates with the CSA designer to complete the detailed design drawings;
  • Ensures that the technical content of the drawings is safe, constructible, matches the scope and specifications, and is free of errors;

Others Tasks

  • Field Assignments: Occasionally, the Engineer is tasked to visit the project site to take measurements, pictures, and other information.
  • CSA Department Initiatives: The Engineer is expected to participate in other tasks that support the objectives of the department and the company, as assigned by the Department Lead.

III. Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; a Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) license is an advantage.

Experience

  • Has at least 10 years of experience in civil and structural design is desired, specifically in industrial and petrochemical facilities.
  • Depth and length of experience will be assigned commensurate position level (e.g., Engineer I, Engineer II, or Senior Engineer), and salary.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge in structural analysis software, such as STAAD is preferred
  • Knowledge of calculation tools such as MS Excel, MathCAD, etc., is a plus.

Behavioral/Physical

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, as well as strong interpersonal skills and relationship building;
  • Ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments and coordinate a variety of tasks, with good attention to detail and ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines;
  • Willing to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries;
  • Able to communicate in person, by phone, email, or through video conferences;
  • Available for site visits requiring mobility (on the ground and at heights) using personal protective equipment (PPE);
  • Detail-oriented and with a quality mindset.

Technical

  • Analytical and critical thinking;
  • Mathematically inclined with solid fundamentals in mechanics.
