Job Summary

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company's financial records by accurately recording, reconciling, and analyzing general ledger accounts. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards and supports month-end and year-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, GAAP/IFRS, and internal controls
  • Analyze financial data and investigate variances
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Assist in preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2 years of experience in general ledger or financial accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
