We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Planning Drafting Engineer (Planning Shire Specialist) to join our team. In this role, you'll prepare precise site development plans and related documentation to support council-compliant development applications in Australia.

This position is ideal for a drafting professional with at least 3 years of experience in residential or planning-related projects who values accuracy, compliance, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate, council-compliant drawings, including:
  • Site Development Plans
  • Site Analysis Plans
  • Vicinity Maps
  • Setback Diagrams
  • Elevations and Sections
  • Interpret site surveys, sketches, and project briefs to generate planning documentation.
  • Collaborate with planners and project managers to ensure drawings meet council and client requirements.
  • Revise plans in response to council feedback, planning changes, or updated site information.
  • Ensure all outputs comply with Australian Building Codes, LEPs, DCPs, and other planning instruments.
  • Manage multiple drafting projects while meeting submission deadlines.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years drafting experience, ideally in residential planning or council approvals.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent drafting software.
  • Ability to independently produce a complete set of planning documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, layout accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
