Basic Function

The Sales Associate – Merchant Onboarding is responsible for acquiring, onboarding, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the company's digital payments ecosystem, with a primary focus on QR Ph adoption. The role ensures smooth merchant activation, compliance with regulatory requirements, and growth of merchant acceptance networks.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMerchant Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Acquire and onboard SMEs as merchants for QR Ph and other digital payment solutions.
  • Conduct end-to-end merchant onboarding including application processing, KYC, and documentation.
  • Educate merchants on system usage, transaction monitoring, and compliance requirements.

Sales & Relationship Management

  • Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets for merchant acquisition.
  • Build and maintain relationships with SMEs to ensure retention and increased adoption.
  • Conduct product demos and training sessions to merchants.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure merchant onboarding complies with BSP, AMLA, and Data Privacy regulations.
  • Verify merchant documents and coordinate with compliance teams for approvals.
  • Maintain accurate records of merchant applications, status, and performance.

Market Development & Support

  • Identify new SME market segments and potential onboarding opportunities.
  • Support merchants in resolving onboarding or activation issues.
  • Provide feedback to product and operations teams for process improvements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, merchant acquisition, or field sales (preferably in fintech, banking, or payments).
  • Strong knowledge of QR Ph, e-wallets, and digital payments solutions.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with KYC, AMLA, and regulatory compliance requirements is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork for merchant visits.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Additional training or certifications in digital payments or fintech sales is a plus.
