Your Role

As a Junior Estimator, you are responsible for:

• Prepare detailed take-offs for the Senior Estimator.
• Ensure all necessary materials and components are accurately accounted for.
• Review and interpret scope of work to ensure estimates align with project requirements.
• Identify discrepancies or missing details and clarify before finalizing quotes.
• Communicate scope-related requirements to the estimating and project teams.
• Create accurate purchase orders for specific jobs.
• Ensure site teams have the materials they need, when they need them.
• Log leads and track progress.
• Ensure deadlines are met for estimates and quotes.
• Maintain a log of all quotes and ensure deadlines are adhered to.
• Track quote conversions and keep records accurate.
• Organize and update plans and supplier quotes.
• Maintain a structured system for efficient access to required documents.
• Variations Management (Once trained)
• Log variations and ensure deadlines are met.
• Action variations based on documentation or builder requests.
• Minimize delays and rework onsite through accurate variation processing.
• Live Job Support (Once trained)
• Complete take-offs and quotes for all plumbing jobs.
• Issue purchase orders to support scheduled work.
• Identify potential cost overruns and report them to the operations team.
• Provide cost estimate wash-up reports upon job completion.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or any related course.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in estimating, construction, or a related field.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, data entry, reporting, and analysis).
• Ability to read and understand plans.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with plans, numbers, and scope of works.
• Interest in working daily with computers, estimates, numbers, and orders.
• Previous experience using SimPRO or Groundplan (preferred but not required).
• High level of motivation and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
• Ability to create, update, and maintain reports, templates, and other documentation.
• Proactive approach to task ownership and follow-through.
