Job Description:

The Strategic Sourcer (or Candidate Sourcing Specialist) plays a pivotal role in identifying, engaging, and nurturing top talent to support the organization's workforce strategy. Operating as a specialist within the Talent Acquisition function, this role focuses on proactive sourcing, market mapping, and building talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs. Working closely with Talent Acquisition Partners, Hiring Managers, and broader HR teams, the Strategic Sourcer leverages sourcing tools, platforms, and networks to uncover high quality candidates, particularly for hard-to-fill or niche roles. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and data-driven decision-making to ensure the organization attracts and engages the best talent in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Sourcing & Engagement

  • Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, social media, and other sourcing platforms.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and recurring roles. 

    Engage passive candidates through tailored outreach and nurture strategies.

Market Intelligence & Mapping

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform sourcing 

    strategies.
  • Create talent maps and insights to support workforce planning and strategic 

    hiring decisions.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Partners and Hiring Managers to understand 

    role requirements and sourcing priorities.
  • Provide regular updates on sourcing progress, market feedback, and 

    candidate pipelines.

Technology & Tools

  • Maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Use sourcing analytics to track effectiveness and continuously improve 

    sourcing strategies.

Diversity & Inclusion

  • Apply inclusive sourcing practices to attract diverse talent.
  • Support DEI goals through targeted outreach and community engagement.

Metrics, Reporting & ROI

  • Track and report on sourcing effectiveness, pipeline health, and candidate 

    conversion rates.
  • Analyse sourcing channel performance and return on investment (ROI) to 

    optimize strategies.
  • Present data-driven insights to Talent Acquisition and HR leadership to 

    inform decision-making.

Qualification and requirements:

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, Boolean search, and passive candidate 

engagement. 

• Familiarity with market mapping, talent intelligence, and recruitment analytics. 

Systems Expertise

• Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter, Seek Talent Search, and other sourcing platforms. 

• Experience with ATS systems (e.g., PageUp, JobAdder, Greenhouse). 

• Comfortable using CRM tools and Excel for tracking and reporting. 

Work Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in candidate sourcing, recruitment research, or talent 

acquisition.  

• Experience sourcing for a variety of roles, including hard-to-fill and specialist 

positions. 

• Proven success in building pipelines and engaging passive talent. 

• Experience working in an RPO, BPO or global sourcing environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Marketing, or a related 

field. 

• Certifications: Recruitment or sourcing certifications (e.g., LinkedIn Certified 

Professional, AIRS) are desirable. 

• Experience: At least 5 years in sourcing, recruitment, or talent acquisition, with a 

focus on strategic sourcing. 

• Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, Excel, and 

sourcing tools.

Non-negotiable skills & requirements:


• Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Marketing, or a related 

field. 

• Certifications: Recruitment or sourcing certifications (e.g., LinkedIn Certified 

Professional, AIRS) are desirable. 

• Experience: At least 5 years in sourcing, recruitment, or talent acquisition, with a 

focus on strategic sourcing. 

• Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, Excel, and 

sourcing tools.
