JOB SUMMARY

To perform the day-to-day operations of the department in providing excellent service and quality Fresh (Produce) products to customers.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Performance Measures

A. Fresh quality produce

  1. Receives and inspects Fresh (produce) products for quality and accuracy.

  2. Regularly checks expiry dates of Fresh (produce) products and reports items for possible discount to superior.

  3. Follows sanitary handling of Fresh (produce) products including proper stocking to prevent waste.

  4. Reports on bad orders and disposal.

  5. Endorses return of bad orders to suppliers during pick-up.

  6. Brings products to the walk-in chillers following the 'first-in, first-out' procedure.

B. Customer Service

  1. Assists customers in their purchases at the Fresh (produce) section in a courteous and friendly manner.

  2. Performs accurate price tagging of all Fresh (produce) products prior to display in the selling area.

  3. Prepares and post accurate and clear signages according to product categories.

  4. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in assigned workstation, backroom, storage and surrounding areas before, during and after store operations in compliance to health and sanitary guidelines.

C. Stock Monitoring & Replenishment

  1. Replenishes and maintains creative displays of product at the selling area.

  2. Regularly monitors and maintains acceptable inventory level in the display and storage areas.

  3. Monitors fast and slow moving SKUs to provide the superior basis for product re-ordering in coordination with merchandising.

  4. Disposes bad order products according to standard procedures in disposal.

D. Others

  1. Operates selected equipment used by the department such as computer, tag machine, etc. in an efficient and safe manner.

  2. Participates in inventory take of the department to achieve accurate inventory data.

  3. Assists in price canvass activity to ensure competitive pricing of Fresh (produce) items.

  4. Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in support of divisional goal attainment or for own personal or professional training, education and development as planned by the superior.

E. Records/Reports

Preparation and filing of:

  1. Merchandise Disposal Slip

  2. Return to Vendor Report

  3. Merchandise Acknowledgment Slip

  4. Report on Bad Order

  5. Merchandise Transfer Slip

  6. Supplies Requisition & Issuance Slip

  7. Price Change Notice

V. CRITICAL CHALLENGES

  1. Product knowledge of all Fresh (produce) products being sold so that customers can be apprised accordingly when they ask about any product, what it is, it's use or substitute.

  2. Handling direct customer complaints / concerns in the selling area. Immediately refers the customer to person who can address the problem.

VI. DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

  1. Day-to-day decisions are referred to higher authority.

VII. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education / Professional Experience

  2. 4 year course, college education/graduate

  3. 2 years related work experience preferred

  4. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  5. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including percentages
