Key Responsibilities

Planning and Management

  • Develop and implement farm plans, production schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor and manage all stages of crop/livestock production to achieve target yields and quality.
  • Ensure that the farm operates efficiently and profitably.

Supervision and Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and motivate farm workers and support staff.
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity and safety.
  • Promote teamwork and maintain good labor relations.

Operations and Maintenance

  • Oversee planting, cultivation, harvesting, and processing activities.
  • Manage use and maintenance of farm machinery, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Implement pest, disease, and weed control programs.

Financial and Record-Keeping

  • Maintain accurate records of production, costs, and sales.
  • Prepare reports on yields, expenses, and other operational data.
  • Manage procurement of supplies such as seeds, fertilizers, and equipment.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with agricultural, environmental, and labor laws.
  • Enforce safety standards and promote best practices in farm operations.
  • Implement sustainable and eco-friendly farming methods.

Community and External Relations

  • Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, contractors, and agricultural agencies.
  • Represent the farm in community or government programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations.
  • Strong knowledge of crop/livestock production and farm machinery.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, analyze data, and prepare reports.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, farm management software).
  • Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in various conditions.
