Universal Robina Corporation Sugar and Renewables LA CARLOTA is looking for an Area Supervisor – Raw Production.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities?

The Area Supervisor - Raw Production plays a key role in overseeing the efficient and effective operation of a specific area within the raw sugar production process. This role ensures that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The supervisor will lead a team, coordinate with other departments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Production Area Management

• Supervise and coordinate daily operations within the assigned production area to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Monitor production parameters, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement operational procedures, protocols, and best practices to enhance production efficiency and safety.
• Conduct root cause analyses and lead problem-solving initiatives to address complex production-related challenges and improve overall operations.

2. Quality Control

• Ensure strict adherence to quality protocols and regulatory standards in all production activities.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and audits; identify potential issues and implement timely corrective actions to uphold product quality.
• Stay informed on industry regulations, codes, and standards relevant to raw sugar production to ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and legal requirements.

3. Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, mentor, and supervise production operators and personnel, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
• Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development to enhance team members' skills, knowledge, and performance.

4. Safety and Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards in all production operations.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections; identify risks and implement corrective measures to mitigate potential hazards.
• Facilitate safety training and awareness programs to promote a strong safety culture among production personnel.

5. Resource Management

• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and equipment to ensure timely availability for production activities.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Planning, Engineering, and Materials Control teams to optimize inventory and minimize operational costs.
• Develop and manage budgets for the assigned production area, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective use of resources.

6. Continuous Improvement Initiatives

• Utilize analytical tools to interpret production data, identify trends, and implement strategies for operational improvement.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste, and improving product quality.

7. Communication and Collaboration

• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, management, and external stakeholders to align operational activities with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and other departments to support production-related projects and initiatives.

1. Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Sugar Technology, or a related field.
• Preferably with applicable licensure.
• Proven experience in production supervision within industrial or manufacturing environments, preferably in the food or beverage industry.

2. Technical Proficiency

• Strong understanding of production systems, including design, operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions to ensure system reliability and compliance.

3. Regulatory Compliance

• In-depth knowledge of production regulations, codes, and standards, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and legal requirements.
• Experience facilitating inspections, audits, and obtaining regulatory certifications.

4. Leadership and Management Skills

• Strong leadership skills to effectively supervise and mentor production teams.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a safety-conscious and performance-driven work culture.

5. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities

• Advanced skills in analyzing production data, identifying trends, and implementing optimization strategies.
• Proficient in root cause analysis and solving complex production-related issues.

6. Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with cross-functional teams, management, and stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

7. Continuous Improvement Mindset

• Proven commitment to continuous improvement in production operations, processes, and performance.
• Awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to production management.
