Shift Engineer

Ensures uninterrupted operations and safety of all building systems and equipment during the assigned shift by performing hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance, responding to emergencies, and executing routine inspections to preserve asset value and enhance tenant and customer satisfaction.

Duties and responsibilities

• Performs scheduled checks, lubrication, calibration, and cleaning of mechanical and electrical assets
• Logs maintenance activities and reports emerging issues to the Head of Maintenance
• Responds to tenant and operations team reports on power, water, elevator, or aircon issues
• Isolates fault, performs first-line troubleshooting, and escalates major concerns
• Conducts safety checks on systems (e.g., fire exits, extinguishers, sprinkler pumps)
• Wears and enforces use of proper PPE, safety lockout procedures, and shift documentation
• Provides clear briefing to incoming Shift Engineer on pending issues, work-in-progress, and new observations
• Coordinates with other frontliners for shift-wide alignment
• Prepares and submits necessary reports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Officer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree either in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with good scholastic records
• Licensed Mechanical / Electrical Engineer, an advantage
• At least 3 years in the same capacity handling Building and Equipment Maintenance and Ancillary Services or Facilities Management
• Previous employment from other prestigious local and multinational real estate / property management / shopping mall / retail / manufacturing companies may be considered
• Must have in-depth knowledge and exposure in Building and Equipment Maintenance and Ancillary Services or Facilities Management
• Knowledgeable in HVAC, an advantage
• Proficient in various computer applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
