Back-End Engineer Job Description
Position Summary

The Back-End Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core services, APIs, and data storage systems that power enov8tive's HealthTech applications. This role is critical for ensuring that our systems are highly scalable, secure, reliable, and compliant with all healthcare regulations, handling sensitive patient data with the utmost integrity.

Key Responsibilities
System Design & Development
  • Design, develop, and deploy highly available and performant server-side logic and RESTful or GraphQL APIs to support front-end and mobile applications.
  • Architect and optimize database schemas and data access layers for complex patient data records, scheduling, and operational data.
  • Develop robust, scalable, and fault-tolerant microservices or monolithic applications using modern programming languages.
  • Knowledge in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation for back-end systems.
Security and Compliance
  • Be the primary defender of data integrity and security, implementing all necessary security measures, encryption, and authorization protocols to meet HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews with a focus on security best practices and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for production systems to proactively identify and address security or performance issues.
Operations and Scalability
  • Work with the DevOps team to deploy, monitor, and maintain services in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Implement efficient data backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Manage and optimize server resources, ensuring the platform can scale efficiently to accommodate the needs of a growing number of healthcare institutions.
  • Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the reliability and correctness of all back-end services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience as a Back-End Engineer building and maintaining production-level web services.
  • Programming Mastery: Expert proficiency in one or more back-end languages (e.g., Python, Java, , Go, or C#).

  • Database Expertise: Deep experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and complex query optimization.

  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and other Database management systems - both relational and document-based.

  • Architecture & APIs: Strong understanding of API design principles (REST, GraphQL), microservices architecture, and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

  • Working knowledge and experience on Go, GraphQL, RESTful API.

  • Foundational Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Algorithms, and Data structures.

  • Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Security & Compliance Focus: Demonstrated expertise in secure back-end coding, authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT), and knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Education
  • Graduates of BS Computer Science or BS Information Technology.
