backhoe operator

The Backhoe Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoes to perform excavation, loading, trenching, and other related construction or site development tasks. The operator ensures safe, efficient, and accurate operation of the equipment in compliance with company policies and safety standards.

• Operate backhoe and other heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excavate, load, and move materials according to project specifications and supervisor's instructions.
• Inspect equipment daily before use and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the backhoe.
• Follow safety procedures and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Assist in site preparation, grading, and trenching activities.
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and site layouts as needed.
• Coordinate with other operators, drivers, and laborers to ensure smooth workflow.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance checks on the equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all company and government safety regulations.

• High school diploma or equivalent (TESDA certification or equivalent training preferred).
• Proven experience as a Backhoe Operator or in similar heavy equipment operations.
• Valid driver's license and operator's certificate (if required by local regulations).
• Knowledge of construction site safety protocols.
• Ability to perform physical labor and work in outdoor environments.
• Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious, and reliable.

• Field-based, typically in construction, excavation, or waste management sites.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
• May require overtime or weekend work depending on project needs.
