Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with designers to implement custom themes and layouts.
  • Optimize websites for performance, security, and discoverability.
  • Debug and troubleshoot Shopify-based issues and integrations.
  • Stay updated with Shopify's features and updates.
  • Manage Shopify metafields, templates, and dynamic content structures.
  • Integrate third-party apps and plugins to enhance e-commerce functionality.
  • Configure and manage Shopify settings: navigation, payments, shipping, taxes, discounts, and checkout.

Experience and Technical Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a web developer (Shopify)
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid coding languages.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience developing custom Shopify apps or integrating third-party apps into Shopify.
  • Knowledgeable in integrating Shopify's APIs (e.g. Storefront API, Admin API) for custom functionality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Experience working with clients to gather requirements, provide recommendations, and translate business needs into functional front-end designs.
  • Experience with testing tools and methodologies to ensure code quality and functionality.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, although practical experience and a strong portfolio can also be very valuable.
  • Certifications related to web development or Shopify are a plus.
