Job description:

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development:

  • Formulate and develop innovative cosmetic products (e.g., skincare, haircare, makeup).
  • Modify existing formulas to improve performance, reduce costs, or meet new regulations.

Ingredient Research:

  • Evaluate new raw materials and technologies for product application.
  • Stay updated with cosmetic ingredient trends, innovations, and scientific literature.

Stability & Compatibility Testing:

  • Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing.
  • Analyze and interpret test results to ensure product quality and safety.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketing, packaging, regulatory, and production teams during product development.
  • Provide technical support during scale-up and manufacturing.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Prepare technical documents including formulation sheets, test protocols, MSDS, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant cosmetic regulations (e.g., FDA, EU, ASEAN, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in cosmetic formulation and product development (experience may vary by role level).
  • Knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with lab equipment and software (e.g., stability chambers, pH meters, viscometers).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in natural or clean beauty formulations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (INCI, EU Cosmetic Regulation, etc.).
  • Creativity and passion for innovation in the beauty industry.
