Business Analyst

The Business Analyst / Tester combines functional analysis and testing expertise with technical knowledge to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role supports the end-to-end functional lifecycle—from requirements gathering and fit-gap analysis to testing, configuration, and solution validation—for assigned enterprise systems and/or projects.

The Business Analyst / Tester serves as a subject matter expert and is accountable for functional design, system testing, process optimization, and end-user support for assigned critical systems. This role also focuses on learning testing methodologies, tools, and techniques while supporting project documentation, test execution, and basic defect reporting.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

-Exhibit and Serve as the team subject-matter-experts (SMEs) for assigned critical systems' set-up,

configuration, modules, features and functional behavior.

-Perform deep functional analysis and recommend best practices, approaches and solutions.

-Demonstrate deep functional expertise and maintain strong hands-on capabilities in critical areas.

-Apply technical expertise as needed to support solution design and decision-making

• Assists in designing functional test cases and creating test scripts under supervision

• Supports the preparation of test data for functional and non-functional testing

• Configures test environments to reflect realistic use cases

• Executes and records manual and automated functional tests

• Supports the review of records to ensure compliance with quality standards

• Helps identify and report quality issues and discrepancies

-Work closely with Project Managers, team leads, other developers to define and clarify requirements and deliver user-focused solutions.

-Maintain and update configuration, functional and testing documents if applicable

Scope of Work

Project Purpose:

• Provide comprehensive business analysis and testing services to support enterprise system implementations, configurations, and integrations while serving as a subject matter expert for assigned critical systems.

Objectives:

• Conduct functional analysis and testing throughout the system development lifecycle from requirements gathering to solution validation

• Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive testing strategies for enterprise systems and integrations

• Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams through effective requirements analysis and communication

• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with established standards across all testing activities

• Support end-to-end functional processes including fit-gap analysis, system configuration, and process optimization

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, QA Tester, or hybrid role involving both analysis and testing.
• Hands-on experience in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, and documentation.
• Experience designing and executing manual test cases; exposure to automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Postman, JMeter) is a plus.
• Background in enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, or similar) implementation, configuration, or integration projects.
• Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and testing scenarios.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Ability to create test plans, test scripts, test data, and test execution reports.
• Understanding of system configuration, process flows, and functional behavior in enterprise applications.
• Basic knowledge of SQL for validating data and performing backend checks (a plus).
• Experience using project and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, Confluence).
• Amenable to 2x Onsite per week in Pasay (Dayshift)
• Open to 12 months project based employment with possibility of extension
